Mmmmm! Bacon!
The food of the Gods - Bacon!
Next to a still moo-ing steak, bacon is one of Lyc's favorite foods.
So here's a few things you can do with bacon. (as if it needs any improving on..pfft )
Something savory ......
Bacon wrapped water chestnuts
Depending on how many you want, a can or two of whole water chestnuts
bottle of good soy sauce
package of bacon - slices cut into thirds.
Soak the chestnuts in soy sauce for at least 30 minutes, then remove and wrap a piece of bacon around each one, using a toothpick to secure.
You can either broil these in the oven til bacon is crisp OR pan fry.
Eat and enjoy!
Something sweet and savory....
Bacon wrapped dates
package of pitted dates
bacon..again cut into thirds.
Wrap each date with bacon, secure with toothpick and pan fry til bacon is crisp.
Lyc doesnt like sweets but he does like these.
The dates arent real sweet, just enough to give a distinct difference and makes the bacon saltier.
aye..you are reading right....
I know there are those of you out there who have sat eating pancakes or waffles and relished in dipping your bacon in the syrup...right?
If you're one then you might want to try this...
Bacon Candy
Slices of bacon
brown sugar
coat both sides of slices of bacon with brown sugar, coat it as heavy as you can.
Then oven broil the bacon til very crisp.
Very easy and sooooo good!
